Bill the Farmer

Bill grew up in a farming family in NSW and moved to  Boyup Brook in 1978 with his wife Meg and three young boys. They have been farming at “Northlands” and other locations around Boyup Brook since then.

Northlands is a mixed farming and grazing operation of 480 hectares, with an additional 500 ha leased. Bill is currently running 1800 ewes, 1600 dry sheep, 25 cows plus followers, four alpachas and two horses. Stock are sold for local consumption as well as live export.

The cattle are descended from Bill’s  stud Angus cows when he was at Orange, NSW. In 1978 Bill exhibited the Grand Champion Angus Bull at Sydney Show.

Cropping comprises a rotation of canola and barley, with oats and hay grown for the livestock. This provides valuable stubble grazing for the livestock during summer months.
